Previous Weeks Freeroll News:

US Online Poker Legislation Part 2

More information for American online poker players. This is such an important issue that this week's Update is featuring another batch of sites where US poker players can still play poker online.

Note that if you live in one of the following states, you mave trouble even with some of the sites still accepting US players:  Illinois, Indiana,  Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wisconsin. I know that Poker Share and Royal Vegas Poker are refusing players from these 11 states, other sites may be the same.

Royal Vegas Poker

The good news for Royal Vegas Poker players is that it's business as usual for those of you from USA. Other than the 11 states mentioned above, USA poker players are free to continue playing poker online at Royal Vegas.

Poker Share

It's the same story at Poker Share, USA online poker players can still play there, with the exception of the 11 locked out states. The good news is that they are offering a massive sign up bonus for new players.

So if you're an American who wants to continue playing online poker, Poker Share is a great option for you.

Top Bet offers Omaha, 7 Card Stud and Tournaments as well as Texas Hold'em, and is still accepting online poker signups from America. If you're a US poker player Top Bet is certainly worth checking out. The site uses the same poker client as Poker Room, so you know the graphics are top class.

Hollywood Poker Freeroll

Hollywood Poker are running a "Birthday Bash" freeroll where the winner gets a $5,200 seat in the Barcelona Millions Ongame Poker Classic. Also, everybody who makes it all the way to the final table will get a very impressive $1,000 bonus.

US Online Poker Legislation

Great news if you play poker and are a resident of USA. The recent legislation banning US citizens from playing poker online isn't the end of the story!

Although several of the big name poker game providers have now refused to accept players from America, there are others where you can still play. Here's our guide to some of the best US-friendly sites:

Poker.com

Poker.com have decided to still let US poker players play online poker at their site. Here's what they have to say on the subject:

"We just wanted to let everyone know that the proposed legislation in the United States will have little to no affect on the operations at Poker.com. We will not be stopping US based players from playing at Poker.com and all player account balances are 100% safe and will always be readily accessible. Our business is licensed and regulated, perfectly legal under international law and we follow all laws in the jurisdictions where our operations are based (Canada, UK, Netherlands Antilles & Australia)."

Poker.com are one of the leading sites against the ban and they have been seeing new signups in record numbers. More great news for freeroll fans, there's an instant new player freeroll when you sign up to the site.

Full Tilt Poker

Full Tilt Poker is another prominent poker site to fight the online poker ban. You can still play at Full Tilt even if you are a resident of USA. Here's what they say about their policy:

"While this new law has prompted some sites to announce plans to abandon the U.S. market in coming days, we assure you that Full Tilt Poker will continue to provide all of its players - both inside and outside of the United States - with a full complement of real money ring games and tournaments for their enjoyment."

We will continue to provide our players with all of the safe, secure and convenient methods for transferring money to and from the site. In fact, in recent discussions with our payment processors, we have been assured that this new law will have no immediate impact on their day-to-day business. And as always, any monies that you have on deposit with Full Tilt Poker remain completely safe and secure.

Vegas Poker 247

Vegas Poker 247 is a site you might not be all that familiar with, but the good news is that if you are a resident of USA, they want you!

Here's what they say:

"VegasPoker247 is pleased to assure poker players around the world that they will continue to be welcome to play on our site. VegasPoker247 is completely confident that we will be able to continue offering our US customers the very best, safest and most secure online poker experience available on the internet, including the fastest deposit and payout solutions. All new and existing VegasPoker247.com customers should feel 100% confident when playing at our tables."

P.S.
The best method of transferring funds to and from your account is now Neteller. Credit cards are likely to be refused since the legislation so Neteller is the safest and most trustworthy way to manage your online poker account.

                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Live Poker is a site that dares to be different, it's not just your run of the mill boring poker site. Live Poker has something new to offer.
Here's the deal with the freerolls on their site, I think it's a really cool new idea. Every Wednesday they are running a $100 freeroll tournament. That's never going to get you to quit your day job, but here's the twist:-
The tournament is open to as many people as want to play. Registration starts at 1pm EST on the Tuesday before each tournament, but only 50 players will actually get into the game. They are selected at random from those who are actually on the site at the time of the tournament. This gives you a great chance of getting into the game, and also a great chance of winning a prize as there are only 50 people in the tourney!
As these freerolls increase in popularity and more members join up, the prizes will go up in line with the increase and there will also be more regular tournaments. Furthermore, there's a big $1500 freeroll on the second Saturday of each month.
