Poker Freeroll News August 2006

Victor Chandler Poker is a site that might be new to you, but it's gaining a lot of popularity and is a well trafficked site.

There's good news and there's bad news about Victor Chandler Poker. The bad news is that the freerolls aren't entirely free in the pure sense of the word, you need some player points (called Action Points) to enter them.

The good news however is that if you are a real money player at Victor Chandler Poker you will gain these Action Points very easily. Here's what VC says about how to get your Action Points:

"For every $1 you spend in tournament fees, you will immediately receive 100 Action Points (not including re-buy fees)."

The $100 speed freerolls are fast and furious and only cost 400 Action Points to enter, so just by entering tournaments to the value of $4 you will be able to get in to the freeroll. There are loads of daily freerolls available (more good news) and they seem to only be about half full (even MORE good news!).

There's also a 25% bonus on offer on your first real money deposit.

Ultimate Bet have some exciting stuff going on at the moment. Firstly, there's the million dollar freeroll. For full details of this incredible tournament click the banner and open an account.

Then there's the week in Aruba that they are offering, you can win your way there and make it on to TV!

Finally there's the chance to hang out with Annie Duke and go to an exclusive Emmy party. Yes that's right, by winning Ultimate Bet's exclusive freeroll on August 15th at 8pm ET you can mingle with the stars!

The package includes:
• airfare for two to Los Angeles, two nights hotel accommodation, $500 spending money and last but CERTAINLY not least - a poker lesson with Annie Duke!

Priceless!

                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Royal Vegas Poker has announced details of a $15,000 freeroll to be played on August 8th at 8:00pm EST. The only qualification requirement is that you sign up as a real money player and play just ONE HAND at a $0.25/$0.50 or above table.
What an amazing deal! Just play one hand and get entry to a $15,000 freeroll. Can you beat that?
Special Announcement!
We've got another members EXCLUSIVE $100 freeroll today (Sunday August 6th) at CD Poker. Again, ONLY members of this newsletter can enter so there's a great chance of a prize for you.
PokerChamps has decided to close it's doors to players from USA. The site, which Gus Hansen is a leading light in, is based in Europe and because of legislation issues it has decided to exclude US residents. Here's what they say:-
"As part of the recent upgrade, PokerChamps has performed a system change that begins the process of moving to a new platform. We have also
incorporated geo-location software which enables us to implement a long
standing and consistent Group Company policy of not permitting access to
individuals in the United States. Affected individuals have until tomorrow
21st July 2006 at 12pm EST/5pm BST to withdraw funds after which time
accounts will be locked and funds returned by arrangement with our
customer service team."
The good news for non-US players is that PokerChamps might give you a better chance of winning. There are concerns about legislation affecting the whole poker industry in America, but I believe it's too much of a juggernaut to control. Most of the big poker rooms are based offshore and don't fall under US law. I think the biggest gripe USA has is in that it's not colecting taxes from the poker operations.
Anyway, on to better news. I've got the next Members-Only Freeroll lined up for next Sunday, 6th August!
Time is 4:00pm EST for this one, I'll email you in midweek with the signup details when I get them.
Not only that, but I've got another members-only freeroll provisionally lined up for 19th August! Stay tuned to this page for details.
Love-Texas-Holdem's inaugural members-only freeroll at CD Poker was won by 8dalejrfar8. In a dramatic 100 player freeroll lasting almost three hours, 8dalejrfar8 beat runner-up ShortStackShauney in the heads-up to take first prize.
Click here for the details of the tournament, including screenshots of the play!
And I've got some good news on the members freeroll - there's another one coming up very soon! It's going to be organized by CD Poker again and the only way you can get in is to sign up, if you aren't already a member.
Stay close to your inbox for the details of where and when the tournament is going to be.
